Shinfield Rangers Football Club prioritises inclusivity with teams for boys and girls as well as just girls. There’s also a fun session for youngsters aged 4 – 6 years and free sessions for disabled children aged 4 – 14 years. This community-focused, inclusive approach attracted BTR to become a team sponsor.
BTR is especially pleased to contribute towards Shinfield Rangers’ 50th anniversary initiative to provide all its teams with a new strip (pictured above). The U12 girls’ team plays in the Berkshire County Girls League.
‘The club works very hard to support its local community, offering everyone the chance to get involved … to enjoy playing football,’ says Barrie Gilmour, BTR’s Director Client Experience. ‘It’s so important that opportunities are available to everyone including girls and women, helping them to compete and grow from a young age. This means supporting and promoting local clubs and organisations to be more involved with their local communities.’
BTR’s sponsorship of Shinfield Rangers’ U12 girls’ team helps the club to make the most of the growing popularity of women’s football. The sport has enjoyed a huge rise in popularity in recent years. Eight million people watched England’s Lionesses win the Euros in 2022 but did not watch the men’s World Cup. 12 million BBC viewers watched England’s ladies become World Cup runners up in 2023, with the final streamed 3.9 million times on demand.
There may be a future England Lioness in the current Shinfield Rangers’ U12 girls’ team!
