This belief was wonderfully brought to life this past season by the sponsorship of the U12 Shinfield Rangers girls football team. Their journey, marked by determination, teamwork, and a relentless spirit, has been nothing short of inspirational. The girls’ have made us very proud with their performance but also inspired us with their spirit. They remind us that success is not just measured in wins and losses but in the way you play the game. Here’s to celebrating their achievements and looking forward to a bright and promising future together and our new branding next season.
At BTR, we are more than sponsors; we are fans, supporters, and believers in the potential of these young athletes. Join us in celebrating their journey and stay tuned for more updates as they continue to rise and shine!
A word from the Manager:
At Shinfield Rangers, we are at the heart of our community. Established over 50 years ago we are very proud of our girls’ section within the club. We were one of the founding members of the Berkshire County Girls Football League and over the past few seasons we have seen our girls section grow to 50% of our overall membership! As I said we are a community club, and we couldn’t do it without our volunteers and sponsors and for that I’d like to thank BTR for their generous sponsorship of the U12 Girls Rangers.
This season has been their first fully competitive season with results published and league tables to think about! It has not been an easy season, the team faced numerous challenges, including adverse weather conditions, a schedule disrupted by cancelled and postponed games as well as injuries to key players.
One match stands out — Playing the league leaders (and eventual Champions) the girls were 5-0 down at half time. But the girls never gave up and the 2nd half was something that will live long in the memory. They played their hearts out and ran the opposition ragged during those 30 minutes and pulled the game back to 5-3. Even though we lost, I could not have been prouder of the girls that day and later that night I received an email from the opposition coach complementing our performance and the girls’ attitude.
It is this unwavering team spirit which has carried us through the season regardless of the challenges they faced. The girls have supported each other on and off the field, creating a strong, cohesive unit. This camaraderie not only helped them through tough matches but also laid the foundation for their development as a team. The bonds they formed have become the cornerstone of their success, reflecting the true essence of teamwork.
Fair Play league trophy
One of the most significant achievements of the season (and the one I am most proud of) was winning the Fair Play League Trophy for our age group, an accolade given from the league to one team across all four divisions. This award recognises the integrity, respect, and positive attitude that the team consistently demonstrated and the way they play the game. Winning this trophy is a testament to the character of these girls and I couldn’t be prouder!
I’m hoping next season will be equally as successful. It will be another challenge as we move from 9 a side to full 11 a side football, but one I know the girls will tackle with everything they’ve got and because of that I can’t wait!
Thank you BTR
